Southern Water in North Road
Since our last newsletter Southern Water and Brighton & Hove Council have changed the start time of the mains laying in North Road. It was decided to not begin work in July as originally planned due to work already scheduled for Queens Road. Work in North Road will not now begin until 2009. Southern Water will be sending out letters to all premises who are affected before any work begins. Peter Stocker will continue to attend liaison meetings on behalf of North Laine.

News in Brief.....
Fed up queuing at the Post Office?
If you are one of the many traders in the city who spends up to an hour a day in the Post Office (either Churchill Sq or London Rd) then we have some good news for you.
The traders in Unique Brighton are working with the Business Forum, North Laine Traders and the Lanes to set up a postal service for all businesses in the city centre.
The service will initially be for parcel post only but if enough interest is generated it will be expanded to offer letter collection. The letter service will be at a lower price than that offered by the Post Office and the parcel post will significantly undercut Parcel Force. You will be able to save 2 pence on every letter and almost £5 on a small parcel
Bullit Couriers are working in partnership with the business groups to offer a low cost service that includes collection from your business premises and guarantees delivery to the destination address.
With more and more trade online the delivery of parcels is becoming increasingly important to traders and likely to grow over the next few years. If you want to save your business time and money then contact Theo Birch at Bullit Couriers on 0845226 8556 or via info@bullitcouriers.com and quote Unique Brighton to secure the preferential rates.

Scratch removal for windows...
Former North Laine Trader Garrett Quinn, may soon be offering an alternative scratch removal service, for those suffering the attentions of scratch graffiti Vandals. The system differs from the usual process of abrasive polishing and instead uses a one stage process to manipulate the glass without any optical distortion.
Anyone interested can contact Garrett on 07803037783.
