At Emma Plus, we are enthusiastic and excited about what we do. We sell women's designer clothes in size 20-34, specialising in directional, younger, and more relevant clothes. Many of our items are sassy and sexy, and as this is something that is rather rare in the larger size market, we tend to get women travelling to visit us from all over the country. Because we have a wide customer base, we are able to have a very varied stock, and carry a number of ranges exclusively. There is nowhere else in this country that has the range of clothes that we do. We are particularly lucky because our shop is in a very easy-to-find location, just a stone’s throw from the station, and situated right next to a large NCP car park.

We have been trading for 16 years, so, building on the previous businesses here, there is a history of larger size fashion going back some 20 years in this location. This has enabled us to develop an expertise in our field. We have a very experienced staff who are friendly, non-pushy and co-operative, and can help with all areas of this fashion specialisation. We work interactively, and are at our best when we are responding to the needs and requests of our customers, who often see us as a kind of club. Over the years, this has been how we have developed the shop to what it is today. Our range includes the likes of Anna Scholz, James Lakeland, Oui, Elena Miro, Persona, Almia, NP collection, Kristina and others. The emphasis is on fashion, fit, colour, and beautiful fabrics, and we are uncompromising about our clothes.

Our task is to find clothes that any woman would love to wear, regardless of their size. We are not affected by the ‘large-size fashion’ curse of tedious older-looking styles that can make larger women look sexless. Our range spreads from casual jeans and t-shirts, through work suits, occasional, beach, sporty, to exclusive designer dresses, and we have an equally wide price range, although our average price point is above high-street. We have an alteration service that is free on all non-sale items, and this enables us to make sure that all garments leaving the shop fit perfectly. Typically, because our customers quite often come from further afield, the alterations are sent on by post (without charge). As many larger women are slightly out of proportion, they often find that few, if any, garments truly fit them straight off the peg. This is why many women tell us that they find having clothes that fit them beautifully is so exciting. This also enables us to customise garments to suit a given need-something that creates an individual, tailor-made design solution.
