North Laine Traders Brighton
Notes from the Southern Water / Council Liaison Meeting 28.10.08
Author – Peter Stocker, North Laine Traders Association.
Brighton Council - Peter Bloxham
Council leaders have suspended all road works in the city from the Friday 5th December. All utilities have agreed and roads will be cleared or made safe by then. South bound traffic will be reinstated in West Street from this date and all relevant safety signs and work will be in place. The utility companies will not commence work again in the city until 5th January 2008. West Street will remain two way to help alleviate any problems which may arise from the start of the Queens Road and North Road works which will start on the 5th.

Council works in North Street, (MPR project) will also stop over the Christmas period and restart on January 5th.

  • Church Street – now finished but awaiting instructions from council about reinstatements
of traffic island or if “road tables” are to be installed.
