Autumn Members meeting
The meeting was proposed for 11th November and Peter to talk to Komedia re hosting the event. Speakers to invite include Maggie Deacon to discuss City College proposals and a local solicitor or commercial agent to discuss rent reviews.
Christmas launch
It was decided to start out Christmas evenings on the same day as the BID – 20th November. Newsletter to suggest that traders talk to each other about special events, promotions etc and for us to explore a Christmas supplement in the Argus..
North Laine 20 Years on
Our main topic was to discuss ideas for the 20th anniversary next year. Ideas included street parties, an advertising supplement to tie in with Christmas, re-launching the rent register which is in need of updating and pushing for a better understanding of the councils views on Special District centres. Many present also felt we needed to remind traders why we started and to encourage a lot more dialog on rent, rates and general advice on running a small business. We then went on to discuss Peter’s coordinators role and he suggested he should continue to attend meetings and liaise as well as trying to collect rent info and maybe start informal drop in sessions for members once a month.
Sharon thanked everyone for attending and the meeting ended at 7.30.
